Abstract | This occupational investigation guide contains learning activities for instruction in economic and societal factors. Activities included in the guide focus on areas such as (1) locating employment sources, (2) locating salaries in classified ads, (3) selecting suitable jobs, (4) learning about the services of the Texas employment commission, (5) using a telephone correctly, (6) learning a business letter form, (7) defining terms on job applications, (8) writing a resume, (9) simulating a job application/job interview, and (10) recognizing employee's responsibility to the employer. Each activity includes six basic components: objectives, suggested activities, directions, information sheets, transparency masters, and student handouts. (LRA) |
