| Abstract | One of a set of six guides for an industrial arts curriculum at the junior high school level, this guide provides the basic foundation to develop a one-semester course based on the cluster concept, construction technology. The guide suggests activity-oriented classroom and laboratory instruction focusing on the technical, environmental, safety, and career aspects of the construction field. Following an introduction covering rationale, cluster outline and objectives, and cluster taxonomic structure, four units are presented: introduction to construction technology, preconstruction, construction, and postconstruction. Each unit includes unit objectives, student competencies and related student activities, and where applicable, illustrations, laboratory activities, and a listing of equipment and supplies needed. A bibliography of films and books, and a listing of teaching aids and special equipment are appended. (SH) |
