| Abstract | This is the teacher's guide that accompanies the textbook prepared for teaching civics at the third grade level in Vietnam. The guide presents a teaching method that deals with each lesson in three basic steps: (1) preparation, including defining principal themes and selecting teaching materials; (2) class discussions, including introductory input, the use of the text book and review; and (3) interaction between the home and the school. The thirty-seven lessons to be taught are presented as stories and the format is limited to simple sentences avoiding Sino-Vietnamese etymology as much as possible. Each chapter is followed by a summary lesson in the form of a poem or a test. (CLK) |
