Abstract | This article presents the results of a survey of trainee teachers at the University of Valencia. It is a qualitative case study of 110 questionnaires, the aim of which is to gain a better understanding of the social representations and the notion of "protagonist of history " of the participants. The analysis of the obtained answers shows a smaller number of women's names and a smaller occurrence of identified female characters compared to male characters. This result can be interpreted as a consequence of the invisibility of women in the history curriculum which, in our opinion, continues to deprive pupils of knowledge about female actors in history and, consequently, generates a restricted conception of citizenship. |
