| Abstract | In the article, the author deals with foreign language didactics and its importance for teaching. He does so on the basis of more than 40 years of professional experience as a "passionate" teacher. From the beginning, he underlines the danger of subjectivity in his statements. The definition of the terms passionate and foreign language didactics is followed by a survey in tabular form of the most important phases of his professional life: studies, the second phase of teacher training (Referendariat), his entry into the profession and his working life as a teacher and teacher trainer. The main part follows these stations. After his "deferred" retirement, he looks back and comments on current developments. The article ends in an encouraging statement for student teachers and practical teachers. (Verlag, adapt.). |
