Abstract | The authors understand the knowledge domains of older people as adult use of experienced knowledge, and they try to elaborate its forms, functions, and meaning in art and science of education. Starting with an example - violence - mediation - courage, which the authors understand as a paradigmatic example, they expand this with typical patterns of longitudinal sections examples (source - updates - qualities - forms of transmitting). After a short summary of general qualities (with authors) [...] [the article provides] three of the typical patterns a little bit more detailed: (a) non-discursive (i.e. aesthetic) domains of knowledge, (b) rhetorics as an approach of educational cultivation (Bildung), and (c) pedagogical plurality instead of monolithic pedagogy. Finally the authors touch the question of the essential role of courage of academic staff in art and science of education with adult experiences of knowledge. (DIPF/Orig.). |
