Abstract | In 2006, the higher education world was consumed by a perceived threat from a US Department of Education report on the future of higher education suggesting that greater accountability in higher education was needed. From January 2008 to Fall 2009, the first VALUE rubrics were developed for each of AAC&U's Essential Learning Outcomes. The VALUE rubric approach is the only nationwide assessment approach that is transparent in its development, criteria, and evidentiary foundations. |
