Abstract | Explored personal and situational sources of cooperation. Assessed MBA students' disposition to cooperate and randomly assigned them to simulated organizations emphasizing either collectivistic or individualistic cultural values. Coworkers rated cooperative subjects in collectivistic cultures as most cooperative. Cooperative people were most responsive to the individualistic or collectivistic norms characterizing their organization's culture. (47 references) (MLH) |
