Abstract | This research was carried out to reveal the reflections of the ear training performed with viola on instrument deciphering in terms of intonation. The research was conducted with viola students at Afyon Kocatepe University State Conservatory. The research was planned as a semi-trial model and a single group pattern. The data were collected through the pre-test and post-test developed by the researcher. A training plan was developed and applied to the study group for a period of eight weeks, one hour per week. Quantitative data obtained from the pre-test and post-test were tabulated and interpreted descriptively. In addition to the experimental process in the research, the participating students' views on their intonation status were taken with an open-ended question form and analyzed descriptively. As a result of the research, it was determined that the students successfully identified the sounds they heard from the viola and played sight-reading with the viola. In addition, it was determined that the training contributed to the students' motivation to study, development of their intonation awareness, their listening and auditory skills. (As Provided). |
