Abstract | The "IDRA Newsletter" serves as a vehicle for communication with educators, school board members, decision-makers, parents, and the general public concerning the educational needs of all children across the United States. The focus of this issue is "College Opportunity." Contents include: (1) School Counselors Express Concerns about College and Career Advising in Texas (Hector Bojorquez); (2) Five Best Practices that Add Women to the Equation -- Preparing K-12 Girls for Mathematics (Stephanie Garcia and Kasia Razynska); (3) Characteristics of College-Focused Schools (Nilka Avilés); (4) Top Ten Percent Plan -- Expanding Access to College in Texas; and (5) IDRA Names Dr. Cristóbal Rodríguez as the 2019 José A.
