Abstract | At the heart of positive school climate are strong relationships. Schools with positive climates have students and staff who are caring, respectful, and committed to their communities, both their immediate communities (e.g., school and neighborhood) and the broader world. These practices become part of the fabric of the school, permeating day to day interactions and instructional practices. This brief offers six strategies that schools can do to ensure that values of caring and respect live and breathe in the building, closing the gap between school rhetoric and reality. (ERIC). |
