Abstract | This annotated bibliography of 66 resources was developed as part of a federally funded project in Minnesota to promote the participation of students with limited English proficiency (LEP) and students with disabilities in the Minnesota Graduation Standards. Specifically, the project is encouraging participation in the Basic Standards Exams of reading, mathematics, and written composition, and in the performance-based assessments in the Profile of Learning. This bibliography lists reference materials on accommodation issues that relate to LEP students and assessment. The bibliography is based on searches of the Psychology Literature database, the ERIC database, and the World Wide Web, as well as documents from state and national agencies and libraries. The bibliography resources are listed alphabetically by author within each of four topics: (1) LEP students in assessments and educational reform; (2) general testing issues; (3) psychometric issues in assessment; and (4) miscellaneous--such as definitions of "limited English proficient" and difficulties associated with educating LEP students. Document dates range from 1978 through 1996 with the great majority published in the 1990s. (DB) |
