AbstractThe goal of this document is to bring instruction in graphic design to the presentation of information in all subject areas and to encourage educators to embrace graphic design as a powerful tool for accomplishing the daily task of communicating information and ideas to students. The document uses activities to reinforce the concepts discussed in the related book, "Designing for Communication." The activities use examples of assignments from a number of different courses which can be transferred to different subjects. An introductory chapter contains sections on understanding graphic design as a life skill, teaching graphic design in all subjects, and using the activities in the document. The second chapter presents 38 sample communication and design activities. Each activity states the objective and description of the activity and any required background reading. (TMK)
