AbstractThis document contains the two modules (called respectively Working Citizen and Personal Resource Management) of the Introduction to Occupations course required of all occupational education sequences in New York State. The Working Citizen module begins with an overview describing goal; overall nature of the module and of the four major topics within the module; skills, knowledge, and behaviors to be developed; provision for special populations; youth leadership skills to be fostered; and equity and excellence requirements. This is followed by a content outline and a set of instructional guidelines for the four major topics (business in today's society; employment: a personal perspective; on the job; and the job-selection process). The Personal Resource Management module also consists of an overview, a content outline, and the following topics: your resources and your life, management of human resources, and management of economic resources. Each topic includes performance objectives/supporting competencies and suggested instructional strategies, such as case problems, worksheets, and learning activities. (KC)
