Abstract | This paper provides three recommendations for the development of Canadian university science educators, based on the results of a survey of 125 faculty members identified as science educators. The first recommendation is to conduct a survey to ascertain the number of doctoral level graduates and current enrollments in the doctoral programs in science or science education. The second recommendation is to recruit qualified female science teachers into doctoral programs. The last recommendation is to make science educators a subgroup of the Canadian Association for Curriculum Studies (CACS). (YP) |
