Abstract | This curriculum guide was developed to complement the Arizona validated competency lists for construction trades. The writing team included tradespeople, secondary vocational educators, community college vocational instructors, and university professors of construction technology programs. The guide lists 15 competencies to be mastered by entry-level electricians. For each competency, various tasks with their standard of performance, conditions for performance, source of the standard, and a performance guide are provided. These materials are intended to assist teachers in secondary and postsecondary vocational programs in developing a course of study, structuring learning sequences, determining standards of performance, and locating resources. The guide also contains a list of tools for an electrician's basic tool kit, and references. (KC) |
