| Abstract | A series of nine workshops delivered via satellite under the Appalachian Education Satellite Project (AESP) during the summer of 1977 was evaluated in terms of participant characteristics and workshop effectiveness. Workshop topics included special education, child abuse, diagnostic and prescriptive reading instruction, cardiovascular physical assessment, and home energy conservation. Similar formats for all of the workshops included delivery of videotaped materials, interactive seminars, distribution of printed materials, and completion of evaluation instruments. Results indicated that workshops presented via satellite are generally an effective way to deliver needed series on topics of interest. (CMV) |
