Abstract	Extensive data are gathered on entry into dental schools in the United States and Canada; all schools are included. In addition to brief chapters on dentistry as a career and planning for dental education, information provided for the entering class of 1979-80 by each school is given. This information includes: general information on the school; the dental program (length and curriculum); absolute admission requirements, including predental college years, standardized dental tests, grade-point average, residency, and advanced standing; the timetable for filing applications, notification of acceptance, and applicant response; financial aid; information for special applicants; estimated expenses; characteristics of the 1977-78 entering class, and addresses for further inquiry.
