Abstract | This newsletter contains items of interest to anyone concerned with science and society interactions. The first section consists of various news items and communications that range from announcements of scheduled seminars, workshops and conferences to brief descriptions of conference proceedings, current research work, and discussions relative to the social issues concerning science. This issue contains 27 such news items. This issue also contains two feature articles: (1) Meeting Reports on the XVth International Congress of the History of Science: Notes and Commentaries; and (2) Sociobiology: The New Synthesis. The first article consists of a summary and critical evaluation of the proceedings of the XVth International Congress of the History of Science as observed by three attendees. The second article is an in-depth investigation of the new area of science - sociobiology. A general bibliography is included. (MR) |
