Abstract | Although followup studies of vocational students have reported employment success of graduates, there has been little evidence presented regarding graduates' success in other aspects of life. The purpose of this study was to identify the life skills, or skills necessary for a worthwhile life, which young vocational graduates consider to be needs. An inventory of life skills was developed and administered to a sample of graduates of 1- and 2-year diploma and associate degree programs in Wisconsin vocational-technical schools. Emphasizing that examination of student satisfaction is a beginning point rather than the ultimate goal of curriculum, and that several interpretations of the findings are possible the study identified potential implications of the results. Recommendations were made for future applications of the inventory. (BH) |
