Abstract | This qualitative analysis of 42 chosen papers deals with the question which demands are raised in the current German sport pedagogical discussion ab out health in Physical Education (PE) concerning particularly the understanding of health as well as goals, content and methods. Most authors demand that students should be enabled to care for their own health and not to produce direct health outcomes in PE. Other formulated goals and content consider objective aspects (e.g. physical health resources) and subjective aspects (e.g. psycho-social health resources) as well as global aspects (e.g. ambivalence of sport in terms of health) and secondary aspects (e.g. nutrition). The aforementioned goals are designated in international discussion, too. Indeed, it is controversial topic as to whether these goals can be reached through moderate-to-vigorous physical activity during PE lessons or through empowering students in PE to care for their own health. With regard to the methodical issues in teaching PE, the analysed literature attributes relevance to aspects such as student-orientation, reflection and cognitive activation. Openness, relevance to everyday life and individualization are mentioned additionally. National aspects that are developed can be a basis for national reflection in other countries as well as international discussion of health in PE. (Autor). |
