AbstractThe traditional relationships between the department of educational psychology of the University of Liege and some colleges of higher education devoted to teacher training in the same area have been changing over the last few years notably following a modification of the status of these colleges. Some of those institutions which were used by the future teachers' educators as a place to practise teaching, are progressively becoming ... partners in training-research processes. The forms of collaboration which have been accepted on a local scale are based on joint modules of training-research which concern simultaneously future teachers and future educators.... The benefits about the formation process are important for the two targets. About the research process, the discussion will be launched on a few unsolved difficulties concerning the temporal and normative constraints of the initial formation, the difference in priorities (understand or succeed), in the tolerance of uncertainty and trial and error as well as in the consequences on the image of school and the perception of its legitimacy. The analysis of the different forms of organisation developed in the field of research-development in educational psychology by colleges devoted to teacher training in adjoining countries ... and the study of their creation conditions in interaction with universities should help clarify the above-mentioned set of themes, discover ways of improvement and perhaps suggest new training systems.
