Abstract	The report reviews a number of questions on issues of central importance which were provided in a "checklist for authors", elaborated by the Academic Cooperation Association (ACA) on the project "Internationalisation in European Non-University Higher Education". It reviews the development of the Fachhochschule system in Germany. "Characteristic features of Fachhochschule study include the practical internships completed before studies begin, practical study semesters completed during the studies, and practical projects completed in the form of study papers and Diplom degree dissertations. Because of the practice-oriented, academic degree courses the Fachhochschule institutions only offer a limited range of subjects which are focused on the classical fields of engineering, computer science, architecture, civil engineering, business, administration/economics, social studies, and design. Within these areas the Fachhochschule sector produces between 50 % and 70 % of all German graduates." (DIPF/orig.).
