| Abstract | The authors present "a profile of the use of technology in Belize schools" as a result of a survey mailed to the school principals of all 63 primary and secondary schools of the country. The technology which is used was categorized by the researchers along three levels: 1) non- electrical resources as maps or photographs, 2) electrically-supplied resources as audio recorders, television or copy machines, 3) computers and computer-related technologies. (Multiple choices were possible in the answers). The results show that 118 schools used one or more level 2 technologies, 77 used level 1 and 24 level 3 technologies. The respondents also answered to questions about plans for equipment and especially computer use in the future. (DIPF/Bi.) |
