Abstract	This article presents the author's response to John Hull's thoughtful evaluation of his article on shaping school curriculum in which many Christian educators have played a part. The author cites that particularly pertinent in Hull's paper is his contention that living a life of discipleship as a school community is at least as significant as having an orientation in shaping school curriculum. Hull claims that teachers tend to uncritically combine elements of various curriculum orientations, thereby unreflectively adopting a "curriculum as technology" one. No doubt that does happen, but part of the problem is that Hull does not distinguish sufficiently between a curriculum orientation and a curriculum conception. As a result, he fails to see clearly that while different curriculum orientations do lead students to experience a different "story," differing orientations do not always or necessarily lead to different educational experiences. He feels that Jackson and Hull are unduly pessimistic about the capability of schools and teachers to consciously construct a curriculum rooted in a particular orientation. (ERIC).
