Abstract | Alberta Education provides funding to school authorities to support the development and implementation of programming for students with severe disabilities. The Handbook for the Identification and Review of Students with Severe Disabilities presents case studies to assist school authorities in identifying students who may be eligible for special education programming and services. Funding for students with severe disabilities in school jurisdictions is based on the established severe disabilities jurisdiction profile. Funding for students with severe disabilities in private schools, designated special education private schools and charter schools continues to be based on the review of students on an individual basis. The following are appended: (1) Student Monitoring Form; (2) Profil de l'eleve ayant une deficience grave (formulaire); (3) Recording Anecdotal Information - Code 42; and (4) Resources.
