Abstract | This manual contains the statistics generated from the Pennsylvania Quality Education Assessment (QEA) administered in 1986. The assessment was to evaluate the achievement of certain educational objectives in grades 4, 6, 7, 9, and 11 in the public schools. The tests were in the following areas: reading comprehension, writing skills, mathematics, analytical thinking; citizenship/social studies, arts and humanities, science and technology, environment, self-concept in school, and health and safety practices. Part I presents tables for each grade level containing the following data: (1) Pennsylvania School Norms; (2) percentile distribution of variables; (3) correlation coefficients among school scores; (4) correlation coefficients between school variable scores and school scores; (5) correlation coefficients among school condition variable scores; and (6) a description of the normative sample of schools. Part II contains developmental data on the comparability of test forms and reliability information. The 1986 regression analysis is appended. (JAZ) |
