Abstract | The duties and tasks found in these task lists form the basis of instructional content for secondary, postsecondary, and adult occupational training programs for industrial occupations. The industrial occupations are divided into eight clusters. The clusters and occupations are: construction cluster (bricklayer, carpenter, building maintenance worker, electrician, maintenance painter, plumber/pipefitter), electronics cluster (computer repair technician, electrical and electronic technician), drafter/computer-aided drafter, transportation cluster (auto mechanic, diesel mechanic), manufacturing cluster (machine tool operator, machinist, tool and die maker, punch press operator, sheet metal worker, combination welder, maintenance repairer, automated manufacturing systems technician), bus driver, truck driver, and auto body repairer. Matrices for each cluster list the duties and tasks and indicate which occupations include that duty or task. Each cluster also includes a list of employability skills that are important for all occupations. (YLB) |
