Abstract | Divided according to grade level, the objectives in this junior high school language arts curriculum guide cover such categories and strands as reading readiness, word analysis, obtaining information, studying, listening, written expression, speaking, literature, and linguistic components. Each objective in the guide is coded for the narrower subskills within each strand, the manner in which the skill is to be tested, and the minimum skills the student must master in order to succeed at the next grade level. The guide also includes those skills that can be taught at a given grade level and measured objectively or by teacher observation. A matrix listing the performance objectives for each strand precedes a description of objectives by grade level. (HOD) |
