Abstract | This guide contains a variety of materials to help teachers for grades 8-12 (specifically those in the Columbia County School System, Georgia) infuse career education into their classrooms. Contents include both school system-specific and general information: (1) brief discussion of career education; (2) listing of nine student outcome objectives; (3) objectives for the eighth and tenth grade career development criterion referenced tests; (4) listing of career education resource teachers (CERTs) 1980-81; (5) role descriptions for principal, CERT, counselor, media specialist, classroom teacher, and advisory committee; (6) Columbia County Locally Developed Career Education Materials List (Grades 8-12); and (7) Inventories of Career Education Materials for four schools. A final section entitled Procedures contains a discussion and outline of procedures for updating the Community Resource Guide, requesting a field trip, securing a community resource speaker, and obtaining free and inexpensive educational materials. Sample forms are provided as needed. (YLB) |
