| Abstract | This document is designed to provide basic information about the climates of the United States and the causes of these climates. Events of interest in the climatological history of the United States are described and illustrated by many maps, charts and diagrams. The booklet has three major parts. Part I discusses climate and climate control in general and the geographical factors affecting it. Part II contains general summaries with respect to temperature, precipitation, storms, and miscellaneous phenomena such as floods, droughts, fog, and sunshine. Part III includes 63 illustrative maps.
