Abstract | The Comprehensive School Mathematics Program (CSMP) is a program of CEMREL, Inc., one of the national educational laboratories, and is funded by the National Institute of Education. Its major purpose is the development of curriculum materials in mathematics for grades K-6. Beginning in September, 1973, CSMP began an extended pilot trial of its Elementary Program. During the second year of the trial, a series of interviews was conducted with 18 second grade students, two each from nine classes. There are four sections to the report. The largest is Section III; four or five pages are devoted to the responses of each student. Also included are sections presenting an overview of the process of selecting and interviewing students, the interview formats, and a summary. (RH) |
