AbstractAnalysis is made in this document of three types of information solicited from faculty members in schools, colleges and departments of education (SCDEs): (1) demographic data descriptive of the faculty population as a whole; (2) faculty perceptions about institutional missions, organizational arrangements, and activities and products relating to knowledge production and utilization (KPU); and (3) projections of future mission and activity orientations, including some assessment of the impact of external factors currently affecting SCDEs. Data analyses are presented under six headings: (1) demographic characteristics of the sample; (2) perceptions and assessments of institutional missions; (3) the use of faculty evaluation in support of SCDE missions; (4) KPU activities of SCDE faculty; (5) faculty perceptions of the future for SCDEs and KPU. Extensive investigation of faculty response is made under each of these headings, and brief summaries of findings are presented for each. (MB)
