Abstract | This directory is the first Office of Education publication that lists public and private schools offering occupational education at the post-secondary level. Data were provided by project coordinators for the 50 States, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands, and the Virgin Islands. Institutions listed include public and private noncollegiate post-secondary schools. Two-year colleges and 4-year colleges and universities are also included if they offer occupational programs which lead to a certificate or degree at less than the baccalaureate level. Schools listed are classified as vocational, correspondence, trade, flight, business, cosmetology, hospital, and technical institutes, and colleges classified as business, junior/community, and 4-year. Listings are by state and city and include accreditation, eligibility for federal loans, and occupational programs. Criteria for listing in the directory, accrediting agencies and associations, and explanation of data are presented in the front matter. Appendixes include abbreviations used, copy of questionnaire form sent to obtain the data, and the State coordinators and contacts. Indexes by program and by school and institution are also provided. A companion directory of secondary schools is available as VT 020 364 in this issue. (MF) |
