Abstract | Die erste Konferenz im Rahmen des Projekts 'Work Organisation and Restructuring in the Knowledge Society' (WORKS) fand vom 21. und 22. September 2006 in Chania (Kreta) statt. Ziel des Projekts ist die Untersuchung der Neugestaltung der globalen Wertschöpfungsketten und der gleichzeitigen geographischen Konzentration und Dezentralisierung der unternehmerischen Funktionen und ihre Folgen für Arbeit, Arbeitnehmer und die Qualität ihres Arbeitslebens. Die Konferenz behandelte folgende Themen: Wie werden die globalen Kräfte durch nationale und regionale Institutionen vermittelt? Was sind die räumlichen Auswirkungen des globalen Wandels der Unternehmensstrukturen? Was sind die Auswirkungen der Flexibilisierungsstrategien auf die Organisation von Arbeit? Was sind die Auswirkungen auf Arbeitszeit, Vereinbarkeit von Arbeit und Familie und Lebensqualität? Gibt es geschlechtsspezifische Auswirkungen? Was geschieht mit den beruflichen Identitäten und Karrierestrukturen? Welche Implikationen ergeben sich für die Organisationen und Repräsentationen der Arbeitnehmer und für den gesellschaftlichen Dialog? Der Bericht dokumentiert die Konferenzbeiträge.
