Abstract	This report presents statistical information on the vocational education and training (VET) systems of 10 countries in Central and Eastern Europe: Albania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovenia. Key indicators, which are to be reviewed regularly are initial vocational training, continuing vocational training, and labour market trends. Chapter one reviews the education attainment of the population and unemployment. Chapter two deals with vocational education and training in the education system focusing on: participation of young people (14- 19 age group) in all education, and in VET; recent trends in these areas as well as training at upper secondary level (1993-1996); and drop-out rates at upper secondary level; public expenditure on all education and on VET.
