Abstract	The European Commission published its Memorandum on lifelong learning in October 2000. The Member States, EEA and candidate countries, as well as European institutions and non-government organisations were given until 30 June 2001 to organise extensive consultation on the memorandum, involving a maximum number of European citizens.... The perspective of this bibliography is both vocational and educational training in Europe. Data are provided monthly by partner institutions from Cedefop's documentary information network, in each of the EU Member States, Norway and Iceland, who supply bibliographical records of the latest documents on vocational education and training; and daily, by Cedefop's librarians who select and add material from the EU and international organisations.... This second edition covers the library's acquisitions from July to December 2001, which was a very productive period for lifelong learning at EU level: among others, the results of the consultation process on the Commission memorandum were analysed and the follow-up communication was prepared. The Commission communication. "Making a European area of lifelong learning a reality", published in November 2001, revised the definition of lifelong learning to emphasise the importance of its four broad objectives: active citizenship, personal fulfilment, social inclusion, and employability.
