Abstract | This teacher's guide presents teaching suggestions and presentation materials about the challenges faced by China and India as they work to sustain their population and ways of life without exhausting the environmental resources each has. The materials may be used as a unit on either nation or integrated into existing units of study. Student handouts include: (1) "What's It Like in India?"; (2) "What's It Like in China?"; (3) "India's Population Future"; (4) "China's Population Future"; (5) "Urban Life in India"; (6) "Urban Life in China"; (7) "Food Production and Agriculture in India"; (8) "Food Production and Agriculture in China"; (9) "Maintaining Forests and Biodiversity in India"; (10) "Maintaining Forests and Biodiversity in China"; (11) "India's Energy Prospects"; (12)"China's Energy Prospects"; (13) "Six Megacities"; (14) "Voices of India"; and (15) "Voices of China."
