Abstract | The session outline and accompanying participant materials in this guide comprise one component of a multicomponent workshop developed to help implement Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, written to attain sex equity in schools. The guide includes an overview of the workshop package which consists of five three-hour sessions: three generic sessions designed to provide general information to all participants, and two application sessions designed to provide specialized information to persons with differing professional roles. Areas of discussion include: consideration of the need for Title IX; review of the Title IX regulation and grievance process; examination of the application of the Title IX regulation to job functions of various groups of education personnel; and an overview of the change process, including an opportunity for participant action planning. This manual outlines detailed application sessions for vocational educators, and includes discussions of the session population, objectives, time and materials needed, facilities and equipment, and personnel and their preparation. A suggested script and step-by-step instructions for workshop facilitators are followed by a package of participant materials for the two sessions. (Author/NRB) |
