Abstract | This report presents a description of one attempt to gain some insight about the actual workings and quality of a particular formulation of the teacher education center concept. The report is organized to provide a background and rationale of the Kent State University Teacher Education Center (where the model has been implemented), the design and instrumentation of the study, a description of the roles and activities within the centers, the degree of satisfaction with various key aspects of the program, and implications for the immediate future. The report is divided into the following sections: (a) background and rationale for the center, (b) the design for the formative evaluation of the center, (c) findings, (d) evaluation of the associate teacher (student teacher) program, (e) evaluation of the cooperating teacher program, (f) summary, (g) conclusions, and (h) appendixes composed of questionnaires used in the formative evaluation of the center.
