Abstract	A phenomenological study was conducted to gather the essence of professional counselors' experiences regarding their pursuit of professional licensure in a Southeastern state. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with six females via the telephone. Interviews were recorded and transcribed for analysis. Findings indicate that these individuals experienced financial difficulties, felt inadequately prepared, and had to deal with unexpected circumstances. (As Provided).
