Abstract	In this article, the author describes his life experiences and how difficult it was for him as a Mexican immigrant living in the United States. His life changed when he moved to America, but his character changed when he started middle school. He had been constantly insulted by his classmates, and at the time he wanted to get revenge. The kids he befriended encouraged him to get in fights. Mr. Rodriguez, his Hispanic math teacher, and his mother helped him in the darkest times. His experiences made him more mature. He began to be more aware of his choices and thought about the consequences. He knew which friends he should surround himself with. He became aware that he no longer wanted to return to Mexico. He had found new hope and, most importantly, a new home. (ERIC).
