Abstract | This study examines reported best and worst supervisee experiences of participants. Most supervision research emphasizes productive and effective aspects of supervision. Some efforts, however, have emphasized nonproductive or lousy aspects of supervision (Worthington, 1987). A factor analysis of participants' reported best supervisee experience revealed a one-factor solution, a finding consistent with qualitative research efforts suggesting integration of roles and expectations is key for effective supervision. By contrast, a factor analysis for participants' reported worst experiences as a supervisee revealed a two-factor solution, suggesting a lack of integration as well as problems in two distinct areas of supervision practice. Conclusions and suggestions for further research are offered. (Contains 2 tables.) (As Provided). |
