AbstractIn the information-rich, rapidly changing 21st-century, educators are faced with unprecedented challenges. While new technologies have brought the people of the planet closer together, they have also brought them into contact with an overwhelming array of information sources. The Library of Congress is positioned to help educators respond to these challenges and connect today's students with a powerful repository of knowledge, bringing the world's largest and most wide-ranging record of human achievement and creativity to a new generation of students and educators. The Library's educational vision is to give teachers tools to help students marshal the power of primary sources and build their capacity to think critically about history and the world around them. To this end, Congress and the Library established the Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) program in 2005. This article discusses the TPS program and the role of library media specialists in bringing the resources to the educators in their buildings and integrating the resources into instruction. (ERIC).
