Abstract | This article discusses how disciplinary infractions at Post Falls (Idaho) Middle School have reached an all-time low. From 2005 to 2007, disciplinary infractions were of great concern in the school community. During that three-year span, the school recorded one-year highs in out-of-school suspensions; in-school-suspensions; truancies; fights; and bullying, harassment, and insubordination incidents. But from 2007-09, each of those areas hit five-year lows. Although the total number of students at Post Falls has not changed by more than 15 during the five years, the percentage changes in the discipline arena have been significant. By setting goals, having commitment from the community, changing the philosophy of how the school does business, and being flexible rather than stoic, Post Falls has realized immense improvements.
