Abstract	The physicist Edward Teller once gave an interview to a woman from a popular science magazine. He began the interview by saying, "You have heard many bad things about the Hydrogen Bomb. Now I am going to tell you some nice things about it." In reflecting upon a response to Dr. Randy Moore, the author thought of Teller, seeing his role here in somewhat analogous terms. "You might hear many bad things about Fundamentalist Yahoos. I take it to be my task to say something nice about them." The author begins by admitting that there are bad reasons for criticizing the way evolution is taught in schools. And many people who criticize it may very well do so for bad reasons. It does not follow, however, that there are not also valid grounds for criticism. From a scientific standpoint there is no justification for teaching evolution and non-evolutionary ideas side-by-side as though they were at present equally viable alternatives. The author states that in this he is in complete agreement with Dr. Moore. This article presents the author's reasons why he, nonetheless, is not happy with the way evolution is commonly taught, concluding that, whatever the scientific merits of the curricula we endorse, we must ask what are the just limits of our fight to decide for other people what their children will be taught.
