Abstract | In this article, the data from a sociological survey serve as the basis for an analysis of the levels of professional training of the graduates of higher educational institutions in the Kuzbass region. The object of this survey consisted of upper-division students in daytime enrollment of colleges and universities in Novokuznetsk, which is not only the biggest industrial city in the Kuzbass but also a center of culture and education. The upper-division students were asked to rate themselves on a five-point scale. They were presented with a set of basic knowledge, abilities, and skills for any kind of professional activity (teachers, lawyers, engineers, and so on): the principles of knowledge of economics and the law; knowledge and understanding of the social problems of the individual and society; and skills of social communication, systematic analysis, self-education, and working with Internet information sources. The overall results of the self-assessments are discussed. (Contains 1 table and 1 note.) (ERIC). |
