Abstract	This article presents the author's response to Joseph Reimer's essay titled, "Beyond More Jews Doing Jewish: Clarifying the Goals of Informal Jewish Education." Learning from experience, Joseph Reimer maintains, lies at the heart of informal Jewish education. Learning, Reimer explains, entails "going deeper": becoming immersed in the activities, values, and forms of knowledge that characterize human experience. The kind of immersion into experience that distinguishes learning cannot occur without an individual's independent active choice. Choosing to become immersed in a domain, the individual takes control of her own learning. What does learning from experience mean? Here, the author focuses on Reimer's answer to this question and offers an alternative view. (ERIC).
