Abstract | Western Governors University (WGU) is an online university in which students demonstrate what they know and can do through a series of rigorous assessments. WGU currently uses more than 250 performance-based assessments comprising more than 1,700 individual tasks. WGU students currently attempt nearly 30,000 performance-based assessments each month. The key to WGU's ability to support the development and implementation of performance-based assessments is the use of a collaborative approach in development. This article discusses the collaborative development of assessments at WGU. (ERIC). |
