Abstract | In this article, the author, aware of the importance of music education from the earliest age, especially in the emotional, expressive, cultural, social, intellectual, and creative needs of all children, analyzes the status of music education for the young child in Puerto Rico. She examines whether and how local education policies impact the quality of education for children and their families. She also analyzes how Puerto Ricans grow around music, the current changes in the quality of their popular music, and the need for formal music education and quality musical training for music and general teachers. In conclusion, the author makes recommendations to improve the lives of Puerto Rican children through music. (Author). |
